The finishing touches were added in the studio over the weekend and then on Monday they were ready to be hung!

It’s time! Nico has been working on the portraits in his studio and they are almost complete. Preparation of the wall started this week.

Nico is in the studio all month making faces. He is about halfway done with the six 7-foot tall portraits. He is excited to finally be getting going on this mural that has been in the works for a couple years now honoring arts educators in San Francisco public schools.

The mural design is complete and the package was submitted to the San Francisco Arts Commission for review and approval.  The package includes the project details, design, Nico’s resume and letters of support.

We received many fabulous nominations and 8 arts educators were selected to be featured on the Woodside Mural. Six of them agreed to have their portraits painted.

A new public artwork will celebrate arts educators who have inspired our young people in the classroom and beyond.
