wall prep has begun

It’s time!

Nico has been working on the portraits in his studio and they are almost complete. Preparation of the wall started this week. Together with Artist Gaelen Smith, Nico spent time measuring the outline of the mural, figuring out the placement of the portraits, spackling up the holes, smoothing over rough patches, and applying a layer of primer.

This past Sunday, we held our first community painting day. Families enjoyed applying the base coat where the flowers and names of our beloved arts educators will adorn the wall.

Next up, the portraits will be installed! And we will host our next community painting day this coming Sunday, March 16th from noon to 4pm — weather permitting. Please join us and rvsp here so we can notify you of any changes.
